I'm all moved in. Not fully settled yet, but getting there. I'm working on the down sizing and being real about what can stay, what must go. Lemme tell you what is resoundingly clear about me...I can take some pics, uh-kir (to be said in Cardi B style)! I have photo albums dating back to the days we had to drop them off at a Fotomat and wait 7 days to have them developed. Evidently that process did not deter me in the least when it came to snapping shots. Oh and yeah, there's the fact that I accepted due process for the technology we had at that time. Did I say photo albums? What I meant to say is photo albumSSS. Heavy on the plural! Which is wonderful for a jaunt down memory lane and ridiculous for storage. I mean, if I want an entire room to be dedicated to photo storage, then I'm headed in the right direction. But, I can't say I want that. What I want is a home style and for rooms to make sense. Hoarding does not make sense. So...there will be a project ahead to figure out WTF to do with all these photos. Hey...if this is the worst thing I have to worry about, LIFE IS GOOD!
What supersedes the little projects the move created for me, such as photo storage, is the feeling I get driving home at night to mah place. The views of a city alive and lit up. A city I'm now a part of. I love all the options for take out food! I love the bridge all lit up in purple! I love the feel of the bay breeze coming through the windows of the car! I love walking with my adorable dog on the longest continuous sidewalk in the world! I love the sounds of hustle and bustle! I love picking new restaurants to try! I can't believe this is my life now! And let's not forget the cherry on top...instant gratification of seeing what my photo look like the minute I take it with no more accumulation of printed photos in albums that may or may not take on that old paper smell and discoloration. Now my photos live in a cloud and stay brilliant and odorless forever. Although, can we all agree those little 35 mm plastic film containers were great? Button keeper, bead container, coin storage, safety pin holder, weed carrier or to mix lipsticks in to create a whole new signature color no one else would have. I think most of my 8th grade was spent crushing eye shadow and mixing it with Vaseline for a one of a kind lip color, when I should have been paying more attention in class. RIP Fotomats!

#respect Ugh! So, the latest accused of cultural appropriation is Kim Kardashian for donning braids and giving Bo Derek the credit as her inspiration. The internet is up in a roar over it and they're even going after Bo Derek. Please, hypersensitive folks. Get. Off. It. Ain't no one mad at Beyonce, Wendy Williams or Nene Leakes for "appropriating" white folk with their blonde hair. That's right. I said it. Don't like it? Kesh me ousside.
