Mary, thank you for showing me at a young age I can be independent, kind, successful, funny, and yes, beautiful! Thank you for showing us all what a strong woman in charge of their own life looks like. You made no apologies for standing tall and demanding respect in a time it was unheard of and frowned upon. You define everything I wanted to be when I grew up. Thank you for showing us we can all make it, after all.
*Rest in peace.*

Person A posts "happy birthday to a beautiful woman who is one of my most favorite people in the world" on person B's wall. I'm sitting here like "who ARE you?!" This is in direct contrast with everything you've said behind closed doors. Doncha think you over sold it on this post?
There's always someone who wants to force feed you an answer to a question that was not asked.
Please, people. Stop. Stop forcing unwanted opinions onto others. There's a fine line between sharing valuable information and being obnoxious. FACT: no one likes a know-it-all. Be observant. Ask yourself am I offering unsolicited advice often? Do I offer my opinion when no one asked? Am I always telling people around me the "best" way to do something? If the answer is yes............ Working in a small office with high traffic is a challenge. We are small town with a friendly vibe. We've built businesses contingent on meeting people's needs. Our biz's require sincere interest in other people, hearing their wants/needs. Our businesses foster connections whether it's with the friendly competitor down the street, the vendors we work with, the customers themselves or even the locals we've come to know through our biz's who pop in from time to time. This is such a breath of fresh air from the corporate world I left where people/customers were merely a number. However, I do need your help. |
